I just finished my first pool using your New Swing Jet Returns. I can’t tell you enough how great a product this is. I just remodeled a pool up in the Napa Valley area that was built in 1953. This pool has always been a hugh maintenance problem for the client because it is located under the canopy of several 100 year old Oak trees. In today’s world we would never be able to build a pool in this location, however the rules were different back then. This pool originally had only one pool return with one skimmer. I was able to install 4 new returns along with all new plumbing and two new skimmers this second time around. Under the best of conditions this pool would require several hours of maintenance a week and usually wasn’t used that much due to all the work that it required.
Today, that’s a different story because of all the added circulation your Swing Jets have created on this pool. Yes it helps having more than one return fitting but what makes your new product such a great asset to this pool is that I can set the returns to flow water in not only one direction for circulation flow of surface debris but I also can set the jet to shoot water circulating down across the bottom of the pool as well. In my upgrading this pool I was able to install a robotic cleaner and due to some electrical issues I had, we kept the robotic cleaner off for the first week. What I found was pretty amazing to me in that this pool that has had a reputation of collecting leaves and debris from all the trees that surround it, was virtually spotless after the first week of running with just the skimmers and Swing Jets moving the water. Because of the down circulation that comes along with the 3 positions on the jet and the fact that they reset each time the circulation comes on to a new position, the pool was as clean as I would have expected had the robotic cleaner been running normally. I will admit that the skimmer baskets were very full but it showed me just how much debris gets in this pool each week and just how well your jets help in the circulation of this pool now.
I wanted to let you know that this product is a home run for me and I can’t thank all of you enough for sending me the 4 Swing Jets to try on one of my projects this season. From this moment forward, I will use this product again and again….. I especially would like to thank John Anderson for making this product available to me and for the generosity of Buzz and the rest of the Paramount Team.

On Thursday May 26th the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) posted a public recall notice entitled “Eight Manufacturers Recall Pool and In-Ground Spa Drain Covers Due to Incorrect Ratings – Covers Pose Possible Entrapment Hazard to swimmers” – http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml11/11230.html.
This is a massive recall and it is estimated that over 1 million installed drain covers sold since December 20, 2008 are involved. Paramount’s SDX, SDX Retro and SDX Equalizer as well as MDX2 and MDX-R3 main drains are not a part of this recall. In fact we are very proud to say that these drains have all been successfully retested and recertified by IAPMO.
Builders, service companies and retailers who have purchased SDX and SDX Retro drains from Paramount, as well as our licensed builders who have purchased and installed MDX2 and MDX-R3 drains, since December 2008 can remain confident that their installations, when done in accordance with our installation instructions, both past and present, remain in full compliance with Federal Standards related to the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act.
New articles are already circulating in Pool and Spa news (http://www.poolspanews.com/2011/061/061n_recall.html) and other on-line publications. Therefore, we wanted to be proactive and address any concerns you might have pertaining to this voluntary recall.

Paramount has recently created a new YouTube channel to help address technical Paramount product related topics and questions. The channel is meant to provide insight and best practices for installing, servicing and troubleshooting an array of Paramount products. Over the past several months the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) conducted an investigation into the safety of pool and spa drain covers and the adequacy of testing procedures used to determine the flow rating of these covers. The investigation revealed that the testing protocols used by some laboratories may have been improper and, as a result, some covers certified by these laboratories may not comply with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act. Pool and spa drains that use covers certified with inaccurate flow ratings may fail to prevent the hidden hazard of a drain entrapment.
Paramount is very pleased to report that our SDX, SDX Retro, MDX-R3 and MDX2 have been re-tested at a certified assessment body and found to be fully compliant to the standard at their originally stated flow rates:
SDX 200 gpm – FLOOR 192 gpm – WALL
SDX Retro 200 gpm – FLOOR 192 gpm – WALL
MDX-R3 132 gpm – FLOOR
MDX2 90 gpm – FLOOR
Gravity Drainage Systems and large, unblockable drains i.e. BUZZTOP Channel Drain, were not a part of this investigation.

11. A qualifying entry will consist of one (1) Paramount in-floor system, one (1) Paramount drain and two (2) ancillary Paramount products. See below for qualifying systems and products.
- The qualifying systems are PCC2000, PV3, Cyclean, Pool Valet, Vanquish, Vantage, and Eco Pool (Step Clean does not qualify).
- The qualifying drains are MDX-R3, MDX2, and Buzztop drain.
- The qualifying ancillary products are Canister, MVFuse products, Clear03, Air-Port, Parascope,
