FAQ – Click on Paraskim manual for complete instructions
No, because to tie the main drain into one socket, and pump suction into the other socket of ParaSkim skimmer, you must use an optional Pentair float valve part 08650-0079. That float valve covers up the bottom opening for the venturi feed line making the venturi part of the skimmer inoperable. However, the non-Venturi version of the ParaSkim can be plumbed that way. Paramount does not recommend this type of a main drain set up with any in-floor system. This is because in-floor cleaning systems are designed to pull in large amounts of debris from our special debris accepting drains and that debris would get caught in the limited space between the Float assembly and the skimmer bottom.
- Check to make sure the valve that feeds the Venturi is open.
- Turn off the valve at the equipment to the Venturi and remove the Venturi from the skimmer and make sure it is not plugged with debris.*
- Check to make sure the weir is still in place in the skimmer and moving freely.
- Make sure the water level is not too low in the pool for the skimmer to work properly.
- Make sure the basket is not full of debris.
- Check to make sure the skimmer suction valve is open at least 1/3 of the way at the equipment nozzle.
- Check to make sure the weir is still in place in the skimmer and moving freely.

- Close the main drain line with the skimmer all the way open and if the pump starts to make a lot of noise and stop pumping your skimmer line is plugged or partly plugged. Call a service tech.
Booster pump: You may add DE to the skimmer with booster pump for the cleaning system turned off, and the filter pump turned on.
Venturi Skimmer: If it is a Venturi skimmer, with the filter pump running, the Venturi must be turned off and if your pool has a separate cleaner booster pump, it must also be off.
